St. Joseph is conveniently located in East Central Illinois, just eleven miles away from Champaign Urbana, and close to two hours from three major metropolitan regions. You can visit our Village from the highway or the Kickapoo Rail Trail. We offer small town charm, with plenty of opportunities that you would expect in a larger community. Kickapoo Rail TrailThis multi-purpose recreational trail will extend 24.5 miles from Urbana to Kickapoo State Park in Vermilion County. The trail is designed for pedestrians and bicyclists, and passes through some of the most diverse ecosystems in this part of the state, including woodlands, prairies, and wetlands.
